She wore red velvet

When you fall head over heels in love with a red dress that is: a) totally un-affordable; or b) sold out, …. then the next best thing to do is go on the search for something similar and within budget!

After spying the stunning red velvet ‘Sabina one-shoulder dress’ by Colombian designer Johanna Ortiz on a recent Net-a-Porter Instagram post I felt inspired to do some detective work and see what is on offer on the high street that could satisfy my new craving for a red velvet dress.

A red velvet dress is one of those classic timeless items …. it’s not going to date! During the festive season there couldn’t be a more perfect fabric and colour to be stepping out in (apart from some sparkly sequins perhaps, which I’ve mentioned in a previous blog!).

If, like me, you are now lusting after a red velvet dress which oozes femininity and style I hope the following selection that I’ve found will help ….. and fill a festive gap in your wardrobe. Dressed up with heels and some statement accessories or dressed down with ankle boots and a slouchy cardigan, a red velvet dress will see you through Christmas and beyond!
