Autumn has well and truly arrived, but I’m not complaining! With autumn comes the need for cosy layers and the cosiest of coats. My weekends are mainly spent outdoors. Whether it’s walking the dog, enjoying long family rambles in the Peak District or standing on the side lines of a hockey pitch there is one thing , especially during the chillier months, that is always a priority… keeping warm!

Long country walks and hours spent watching the children play matches are far more enjoyable when you’re feeling appropriately wrapped up for whatever the weather has to throw at you. Regatta, an English family-owned outdoor and leisure clothing company, which has been established in Manchester since 1981 have the answer. Their range of stylish, technical heated waterproof jackets means there’s no excuse to not get outside in the fresh cold air and make the most of it!

Their range of waterproof and breathable, battery-operated jackets are specifically designed for everyday outdoor life. The design of the Voltera II waterproof insulated hooded heated walking parka with its adjustable temperature control allows you to choose the temperature depending on your activity. At the touch of a button you can turn up the heat allowing you to feel cosy and comfortable even on the coldest of days. Operated with a rechargeable slimline battery pack that fits discreetly into an inner pocket it heats two chest panels and one back panel within the jacket. There are three temperature settings allowing you to set the required level of warmth. High-warmth, low bulk Thermoguard insulation offers even further protection from the elements. Another great thing about this parka is that it doesn’t weigh you down when you’re wearing it, which is often the problem with coats aimed at keeping you cosy. It is also machine washable.

The waterproof shell makes full use of Regatta’s waterproof/breathable Isotex 10,000 performance fabric with sealed seams and a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish for all-weather protection. Being outdoors even on the coldest and wettest of days is no longer a problem.

On the coldest of days it’s not just us that need an extra layer – spare a thought for our furry friends. Over the next 18 months Regatta are partnering with Battersea, one of the UK’s oldest and most well known animal rescue centres. It was established in Holloway, London in 1860 and moved to Battersea in 1871. The Battersea/Regatta dog accessory collection has an excellent selection of stylish, warm and water repellent coats ensuring your dog will enjoy the walk during the colder months just as much as you do! The Odie dog coat is made from a quilted water repellent micro poplin with Thermoguard insulation, polyester taffeta lining and a suedette trim. It is available in a variety of colours and sizes to suit any dog.
So now there’s no excuse not to get outdoors, blow the cobwebs away and make the most of the great outdoors whatever the weather!
Happy rambling …
