We shouldn’t let freezing temperatures prevent us from wearing some of the newest and prettiest things to arrive from the 2019 Spring & Summer collections.
The week definitely got off to a good start with the bluest of blue sky and dazzling winter sunshine – and we can deal with the fact that the thermometer is hovering somewhere around freezing by making use of layers, thermals and hand warmers.
Today was a day for putting on the newest addition to my wardrobe from the gorgeous SS19 collection at Honorbeach. Dresses don’t come much prettier than the Talitha tieback batik print patchwork dress . The dress features two of Paddo to Palmy’s custom hand screened Batik-inspired prints in a floaty viscose voile and incorporates their ethos of mixing the traditional with the bohemian!
Worn with a pair of my favourite vintage soft leather knee high boots and a few discreet layers the dress couldn’t be more perfect for a bright winter’s day. On cold days, knee high boots are perfect for twinning with midi and maxi dresses or skirts, and this allows you to wear more of your wardrobe.
If like me you have a number of maxi skirts and dresses in your wardrobe you’ll find a full-length coat is a great investment for the winter months – you can get away with maxi items on even the coldest of days. This Charlotte Wool blend maxi coat from Monsoon has had so much wear already this season – it’s one of those investment pieces that will last you for many years to come. Currently on sale it’s definitely worth a look!
The perfect accessory to accompany this outfit was one of the latest designs from LuxtraLondon. The new Nina Mini leather handbag in the softest Italian tan leather with contrasting creamy Belgian Linen is going to be a versatile piece for the coming season. Worn as a crossbody style or as a mini tote it’s the perfect colour and style to mix and match with my existing wardrobe.
Layering is one of the easiest ways to get more wear and use from the things in our wardrobes. Fine knit turtle necks and rollnecks are definitely top of my list when it comes to wardrobe essentials at this time of the year. A great way of adding more pattern to your outfit is with a clashing of prints. Don’t think the layers underneath need to be plain – for a quirkier look try a bold stripe rollneck twinned with a floral print, or even a leopard print layer!
So… the tip for the foreseeable future is just be prepared to layer up; at least until things warm up!
