I’m quite sure I’m not alone when I say that I might (do) have an obsession with basket bags! I keep explaining to my husband that every one is different in its own special way ….. and a girl can never have too many, right???!
At the start of the season I picked out my favourite selection of baskets bags and wrote a blog about them ‘The basket edit’
But with basket bags so on trend right now and with so many gorgeous new things about I decided it was the most definitely the right time for ‘The basket edit … Part two’!
In years gone by a basket bag would have been associated with days on the beach .. how times have changed! Whether Raffia, Straw, Jute or Rattan the basket bag has definitely become an essential part of our wardrobe during the summer months. The great thing is that the vast majority are very affordable – an item that won’t break the bank but can so easily transform an outfit. Isn’t that what we all want from the items we buy!?!
Whether you are going to be using it for holidays or for day to day use its going to be a welcome addition to your outfit. If you have children like me you may also reap the benefits of a slightly larger basket bag …. it will literally hold everything they choose to throw at you. A mum’s bag can never be big enough – fact!
If you dream of leading a Parisian life and picture your Saturday mornings filled with fresh flowers, fresh bread, fresh coffee and the perfect straw basket to bring it all home in, a larger one may also be the one for you! (Warm sunshine obviously helps to set the scene as does a Breton tee!
If you haven’t already ditched your leather bag in favour of the ‘must have accessory of the summer’ now is definitely the time to do so …. With warm sunshine hopefully on the way there couldn’t be a better time!
