The utility jacket edit …

It’s fair to say that a khaki utility jacket is another one of those ‘essential‘ items we all need in our wardrobe.

When spring eventually arrives and we finally put our thick winter coats away we’ll all be wanting lighter weight alternatives that are versatile and easy to wear with the rest of our wardrobe. Chances are you already have a denim jacket (or two) and a selection of blazers which are also a key part to building the perfect ‘easy to wear’ and ‘easy to style’ wardrobe.

The reason I love a khaki jacket so much is the fact that it works so well with denim, whether blue, black, grey or white….. and it compliments leopard print rather nicely too (always a bonus!!!).

On the many days that I find myself wearing jeans, I need a jacket that will instantly sit well over my favourite Breton tops, white embroidered shirts and slogan tees. A ‘double denim’ look can work; however I prefer to go with a jacket that gives some contrast to the denim but still gives a stylish feel to my outfit – which is why a khaki jacket ticks the box!

It’s the obvious choice styled with a tee and denim shorts during summer months and is standard uniform during the festival season!

Layered over a dress it instantly creates a more relaxed casual look, but still maintaining style … a great way to make those ‘dressier dresses’ more wearable during the day!
