Cord is having its moment….

Watch out denim, corduroy is having its moment this season! Whether it’s in the shape of trousers, skirts or jackets cord is emerging as a big trend. As a child of the 70’s I remember cord all too well … but things have moved on and there is now so much choice in terms of colour and style.

Whether you are welcoming cord into your wardrobe for the second time around or whether you’re a newbie,  the easiest way to get on board with this trend is with trousers. Imagine your cosiest knit or your favourite slogan tee worn with a pair of wide leg cords or ankle skimming skinny cords. Your denim jeans will soon start to feel quite neglected! Worn with heels, boots or your comfiest trainers corduroy will definitely see you through the winter months.

Modern corduroy is definitely soft and also takes colour very well. Colours you might not normally choose in other fabrics suddenly become very appealing, such as pinks, deep reds and burgundy.

I have a feeling that as we get nearer to Christmas there will be far more choice available. Although the pink cords from Mango I posted earlier on Instagram are unfortunately now out of stock due to high demand I’ve selected a few other trouser options to get you started….
