Spotted in the Boden sale…

It’s raining, it’s pouring!

While we can’t be outside enjoying everything that summer has to offer we might as well be finding some summer bargains to wear when the sun finally does decide to put in an appearance again!

If it’s polka dots and spots you’re searching for then look no further than the Boden sale.

As I’ve mentioned in a previous blog there is something about polka dots that makes them classic and timeless …. with an element of fun (a bit like stripes really!).

Polka dots won’t date … if you buy them now they’ll still look fresh this time next year. They also work incredibly well with simple basics such as a blazer and denim. You’ll find you already have things in your wardrobe that will compliment them. Simply by adding a brightly coloured accessory to a polka dot dress can work wonders!

I’ve added a few style tips to each of the items below.

Lola skirt in Ivory & Navy £51 (was £85)

Try styling this with a bright coloured cotton sweater/tee and pumps for a more casual look. Try bright coloured accessories as a contrast, opt for a bright meadow green or bright primrose yellow rather than the obvious choice of red.

Lois dress with blue scattered spots £54 (was £90)

The perfect summer holiday dress to wear with wedges or espadrilles and tan coloured leather accessories. Dress it up with a fitted navy blazer and heels for a smarter occasion. Try pairing it with a striped clutch as a contrast to the spots!

Red textured spot dress with self tie belt detail £68.60 (was £98)

A versatile dress which can be worn well into the autumn and winter due to the long length sleeves. This style of dress looks great styled with longer length heeled boots in the autumn.

Navy polka dot Josephine dress £58.80 (was £98)

Another great summer holiday dress that can be worn as an everyday dress or styled for a smarter occasion with contrasting accessories. Try adding a skinny waisted belt in either ivory or a contrasting bright colour.

Hazel navy scattered spot Ponte dress £72 (was £90)

A simple classic style that will not date. Dressed up or down this will be perfect for all occasions. Love the contrasting stripes against the spots. Also try floral patterns when it comes to finding contrasting accessories.

Riviera top £48 (was £60)

A very flattering shape with the tie waist detail.  Worn with wide leg cream palazzo pants this could look effortlessly stylish. A maxi length flowing skirt would also work well. This is one of those versatile items that could be worn with so many different items to create a number of stylish looks.

Navy & Ivory Glitter spot Breton £24.15 (was £34.50) also available in rosehip/ivory

You can never have too many Bretons… fact! I’ve worn my glitter spot Breton countless times either under dungarees or with a blazer. The glitter spot adds an element of fun and definitely makes a change from the classic navy and white version we all own.

Edie polka dot off the shoulder top £30 (was £50)

On trend with the off the shoulder detail this is the perfect summer top to be worn with denim. One of those pieces that could easily be dressed up for an evening out with statement accessories.

Ivory spot sling back heels £72 (originally £120)

These shoes ooze elegance. I can see these being worn with a cream dress or wide leg cream trousers to create a very elegant and feminine outfit. Worn with denim jeans and a crisp white shirt they also make a statement.

Angelica t-bar heels £72 (originally £120)

If you want your shoes to do the talking these are the perfect pair. Keep everything else simple with your outfit and these shoes will make a statement all by themselves. As with the pair above these will also look fabulous worn with denim and a blazer. A versatile shoe for your wardrobe.

Ivory spot skinny waist belt £15 (was £30)

I always think accessories are so important when it comes to putting an outfit together. With the help of this skinny waisted belt the simplest of outfits can be transformed into something quite special. Worn at the waist of a cream or white dress this will add interest. This will also look great during the winter worn over a cashmere sweater or used to pull a longer length cardigan in at the waist. It’s one of those items that will get a lot of wear!

Be quick as items in the Boden Sale are soon gone!

Happy shopping! 🛍🛍🛍

  1. Polka dots are one of my absolute favourite prints. I can’t count the amount of polka dot clothes I have. People tell me it’s too childish but I will always love it
