Making a statement!

Statement shoes, statement bags, statement earrings ….

I’m guilty of buying all of the above as they work wonders in creating an outfit with ‘the wow factor’. Welcome to the newest ‘statement’ for spring and summer that is going to be hard to ignore and even harder not to fall in love with!

Statement cuffs are big this season – in more ways than one. They are the detail which turns a blouse, jumper or top into something special and eye catching.

Prior to Christmas, Monsoon launched their Victoriana lace blouse which I absolutely adore …. judging by the reaction on Instagram and the decision by Monsoon to introduce two new colourways, it appears many more of you adore it too! It ticks all the boxes –  a delicate and intricate lace fabric with detailed styling, a perfect fit and cuffs with the WOW factor! It’s a classic piece with a modern, chic feel. It’s one of those pieces that never fails to receive a compliment.

I’ve worn the Ivory colourway endlessly, pairing it with denim or layering it underneath dungarees and it looks equally as stylish dressed up with tailored trousers.

I didn’t hesitate in ordering the black colourway and rest assured it delivers the same ‘wow’ as the ivory. I now have a decision … do I order the blush (pale pink) colourway too?

There are many other styles around at the moment, all  delivering the same impact as the Victoriana top. I’ve picked what I think, are some of the most stylish, versatile and wearable pieces all of which offer a little something extra in their cuff and sleeve detail.

Practicality has to be considered and it’s fair to say that some of the items  I discovered are impractical in terms of cuff size and length (they didn’t make the short list!).  However, they definitely deliver when it comes to making a statement!

Hopefully I’ve found something to suit all tastes and budgets  ….
